Great views. Nice part of town. Very good value for money. Pay the little bit extra for the harbour view. It’s worth it ! Rooms are comfortable and more than adequate. I was expecting smaller for this price and location. Highly recommended

Stayed for 2 weeks in a harbour view room while my husband was in hospital. Could not fault anything. Wonderful staff. Rooms had everything you could need – comfortable beds, kitchenette with everything you could need, spotlessly clean with daily room service. Coming from a small country town I felt very safe with 24 hour reception. So convenient to public transport and shopping with Woolworths across the road. Thank you for a wonderful stay. I will be back. 😊

Easy booking via booking.com for a staycation in Sydney just before the hard lockdown. 4 stars for the view specifically, I would say 3 stars for the room, as expected it was quite small but the view made up for this. All amenities in the room worked fine and a small selection of tea/coffee/sugar/milk was provided. For another overnight stay with a great view on a budget, I would stay here again.

Was probably once a great Apartment Hotel but it is now a little run down and dated. I must say we had a good sized open apartment with a double and two single beds that overlooked a pleasant view of the city. A good sized bathroom/laundry combo and loved the shower – good flow and hot! The kitchenette was small and could have done with a new bar fridge. The ice compartment was frozen over and the seal was not working properly. Overall, not flash but quite comfortable; warm and very good beds. Being so close to the Botanical Gardens is a great advantage. Very pleasant gentleman at reception when I was there. It

I really enjoyed my stay. I got a room upgrade to a room with a spectacular view over Hyde Park, Wooloomooloo, the Opera house and the Harbour bridge. The room was very clean. My request for a late check out at short notice was accommodated straight away. I worked for most of the time I stayed there and the internet was great. The hotel is in a convenient location to restaurants and the train.

We booked the room on the very last minute because we were to tired to drive back to Canberra. The front desk served us with the highest quality. The overall hotel was very clean and spotless. The bedroom was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Will probably stay here again when we come to Sydney.

NEVER STAY HERE. I was charged $239 for one night and I was given a renovated room that smelt very strongly of paint. Then I was given a much worse room that felt like a room in an mental institution and I was told it was the best room. Only an overhead light and the bed rolled around on the floor. It was so noisy from the traffic on the street I left and slept in my car and was refused a refund. To the owner who replied, my stay was in 2015. The $239 was through Agoda, I have the reciept, and THERE IS A PHOTO OF THE ROOM IN THE REVIEW, why are you pretending I didn’t stay?

Stayed here 2 nights 3 days when I flew to Sydney to see Hamilton! I came here not expecting much from the reviews but it was cheap and I’m a college kid so I wanted to save money and the rooms on the website looked nice… and they were! It looked exactly like the photos on the website. What a deal for such a price. I had an amazing view of the Sydney Harbour bridge and opera house from my window, which was super unexpected! A lovely ensuite bathroom with a hot shower, a nice sofa, flat screen TV and big comfy double bed. The air conditioner kept the room cool and comfortable through the heat of summer. All of the staff, from the cleaners to the receptionists were incredibly friendly and helpful at all hours and tended to all my needs and requests, they really made the experience lovely. Even without asking our towels were replaced with fresh ones and the bed made every time we returned from the city. The location is also brilliant – right in the heart of Darlinghurst. This is the best hotel deal I’ve ever gotten. 100% would stay again!

I spent a couple of nights at the De Vere hotel along with my parents. The rooms are mediocre for the price it offers. The reception staff was quite short in assisting with new check-ins and inaccurate information on the room configuration. There is no street parking available, just one car space on the adjoining site street which is always occupied. Private parking is not available and there is almost no street parking in the nearby streets. Wilson parking is located quite distant to the hotel. No assistance was offered with luggage even for senior citizens quite obviously struggling with luggage. It has a rather uninviting exterior save the adjoining restaurant which gives it some warmth. Breakfast on the top floor had good variety. Conveniently located opposite a supermarket, chemist, cafes restaurants and bus stop. Should improve considerably to offer a satisfactory service for paying guests. Would not recommend as a first choice in Potts point.

Paid $250 a night at reasonable occupancy & was expecting a lot more from this hotel. The main issue leading me to leave this review is bed bugs – my partner woke up itching and scratching every morning. Bites didn’t subside for days. Our room had a Japanese wall screen type thing which let a lot of light in each morning, disturbing our sleep. Would suggest looking elsewhere if you’re willing to spend money.

Not really a four star hotel. However for the money they charge it gets three stars. The service from reception is very good. They are very helpful. The rooms are okay and comfortable the bathrooms need a good bleaching. It is a very good location. It’s okay for an over night stay. I only stayed in a standard room. There is a good bar on the ground floor.

Stayed there last night as my son is a patient near by at St Vincent’s. I had the most horrible night. The room was fine, although I will say that the bathroom smelt a little like a public toilet. I shut the bathroom door and seemed to quell the smell a bit. The worst thing however, was the blaring music that was coming from directly above. The noise went on until at 4am (at which point I finally went to sleep). There were also constant squeaking and foot steps coming from the ceiling. I would not recommend this place.

Do not stay here. Loud, noisy all night from surrounding properties. The Manager changes the price on a whim, then come check-out makes up an arbitrary reason why he’s not refunding you the $100 key deposit (in this case, it was a noise complaint that was never raised or addressed at the time). Go anywhere else.

I will be as honest as possible. The gentleman at the reception was really understanding and helpful to me. But as for the place, I think it’s illegal to post it online as a hotel. This is clearly some form of a hostel. They say breakfast starts at 8am. Well I left at 8:40am but there wasn’t any breakfast. There is some form of a kitchen and I thought well I go boil some hot water and drink since no breakfast, but even kitchen was locked and reception was locked. 8:40am I wanted to leave so I dropped their key in the box there with sign DROP KEY HERE. Oh lastly, toilets and shower is out and not inside rooms. It’s shared by everyone. Thanks to the reception atleast I was given a tiny room with a toilet and shower inside since I had a kid. I can’t say good or bad. Make up for your self.

We spent a few nights here as it was cheap and soon after arrival we could see why. The dirty kitchen (insects in microwave, on plates etc) meant we only cooked once, the room was advertised as duluxe and it was by no means duluxe it was of poor standard, our shared bathroom was out of order for the bulk of our stay meaning the downstairs bathroom was shared between 4 two person rooms (and that bathroom wasn’t cleaned or stocked daily), reception was rarely manned as a result of the ongoing pandemic which is understandable but sadly phone calls were not always answer. On the positive side location is good only a short walk to Kings Cross station and they offer discounted parking in a nearby car park which is safe.

I’ve stayed 3 nights at this place to visit Sydney. My plane landed at around 11:30 so I arrived to the hostel at around 12:15 and it was a real pain to get someone at the front office. Their front office is closed between 12 pm and 5 pm from what I remember, 4 phone numbers were written on the door if no one would be there and 3 out of 4 numbers didn’t answer. One last number answered and the guy couldn’t do anything because he was in Brisbane. We finally got someone after waiting 25-30 mins (2 other persons were with me). I was meant to be in a 8 beds dorm for girls and I just ended up in a 4 beds dorm which was alright. Pretty clean, mini fridge, locks and heater available. The plug was almost broken though. I was given some tableware and my coffee cup was still dirty (big coffee stain it seemed). Also, that’d be nice to get an extra blanket during winter. The bathroom was perfectly clean, got hot water with no problem. I really didn’t stay much at the place as I was leaving in the morning at 6 and coming back at 9 pm. So yeah globally it wasn’t too bad for a 3 nights stay.

I stayed at the Hughenden with my dog whilst travelling for work. The hotel is lovely and unique and for the most part I really enjoyed my stay. The hotel is pet friendly, in so far that they allow your pet to stay, but they don’t really provide any other pet friendly facilities beyond that. For example, there is no grassy area on the hotel premise and you need to take your dog over to Centennial park to relieve themselves. As a solo female traveller, the idea of doing this at night made me pretty uncomfortable. Secondly, when booking you have to book a ‘pet-friendly’ room, which costs more than a standard room. I thought that this might mean that they provide a kennel, or dog bowl, or just a little more space for your furry friend, but this is not the case. I think if you are paying more than there should be something to show for it. If travelling without a pet it is great, if you have a pet this is just something to be aware of. Overall, a great stay.

Cute, quaint, dog friendly hotel, we had a room with a private little courtyard which was sweet. We would have hoped to have slightly more dog-friendly outdoor areas (struggled to find somewhere to take the dog for a wee, had to go out to the street) and we were a touch disappointed with breakfast: we were told we would get a voucher for a buffet breakfast and instead got $10 to use at the cafe (which didn’t get you much). All in all though, a pleasant stay. Would definitely come back again.

I recently stayed at the Arts Hotel during a visit to St. Vincent’s Hospital for medical treatment. As a rural patient, travelling alone during the latest COVID lockdowns, they were incredibly accommodating and caring towards me. Every staff member that I had contact with went above and beyond, making a very stressful time that bit easier. Ordered food from this place via Deliveroo, found a hair in a sandwich and complained to Deliveroo . Later received a call from Cathy or Cassie, asking about the issue and claiming that is not her hair and being generally rude to me. Did not even apologise , very disappointed with customer service and food quality with hair inside and I didn’t even mention about sandwich being cold. Secondly, not happy receiving a call from cafe as it is breaching my privacy and as well in this rude manner like it’s my mistake . I used to order from this place but will not anymore . I do not recommend.

My sister and I spent 3 nights at Blue Parrot Backpackers and loved our stay.
We checked in with Jorge who was so kind and helpful. He introduced us to everyone we encountered and made us feel comfortable.
Everyone is really respectful of others and friendly.
We checked out with Connie who stored our suitcase while we were heading for breakfast.
I’ve also been in touch with her for a lost and found enquiry. Connie was really efficient and handled it really well.
We will definitely recommend it again and hope to be back in the future.
