Rose Bay is an Australian suburb located seven kilometres east of the Sydney CBD (central business district). It falls in the state of New South Wales and in the local government areas of Waverley Council and Municipality of Woollahra. As per the 2016 census, the suburb population was 10,053. The total area is limited to 2.6 sq km. Rose Bay is famous for its historical value as well as for having one of two water airports in Sydney.
Rose Bay was named after joint Secretary to the British Treasury, George Rose, and was used as early as 1788.
